I had a really hard time selecting what photos to share. Two week old Nolan was a prince during his first photo shoot. I hope I was able to capture his parents love of nature!

The rain that threatened the weekend forecast disappeared when the sun decided to behave and shine brightly on the Johnson Center for Jody and Dan’s wedding. They laughed together as they exchanged gifts and focused on the marriage, as much as they focused on the wedding. Throughout the day friends and family roasted and toasted the couple, but the common theme was perfection. The perfect meeting, the perfect date, the perfect proposal, the perfect union. Glasses were raised in honor of their love…and their perfect day.
It was a pleasure to work with so many other great vendors. Below are a few that helped create the perfect day:
With many, many thanks to Sarah Wezner, Wedding Coordinator, from Pure & Simple Catering, for orchestrating a perfect wedding day…not a moment, detail, or thing was overlooked! Sarah and her staff worked to ensure the day flowed smoothly and were so thankful for their help.
The floral arrangements and details were done by April Irelynn Floral Design LLC.
Jody looked radiant with a little extra help from Aleksandra Adams for makeup.
Before the wedding ceremony, we roamed the grounds of Cleary University and the Johnson Center for many fabulous photos of the newlyweds.
Lakes Cakes provided stunning cupcakes and whimsical grooms cake.
The officiant, Reverend Fred Jolicoeur of We Are Gathered preformed a beautiful ceremony.
Jody and Dan, thank you for inviting us to document your wedding day. We suspect your day was the mere start to amazing and incredible things in your lives. We wish you nothing but the best and hope you enjoy your lives together. Much love and appreciation.
June 19th, 2010 was a very special day for Jessica and Dave. It was their wedding day.
We spent the day in the Ann Arbor area. We started off at Salon Varga in Saline with Jessica and her bridesmaids. Then headed to her family home to capture the finishing touches. We met Dave and his groomsmen in front for the U of M stadium. The guys were a little hot and I would say a little nervous. The ceremony was held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Ann Arbor. After the ceremony we headed to the Law Quad and the Arboretum with the bridal party. We had a great time working with all of them. The reception followed at the Four Points Sheraton in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was a privilege to be their wedding photographers and capture their special day.
Our clients are truly amazing people. Every time we leave a wedding, we feel like the luckiest photographers. We are blessed to witness love, devotion, and forever throughout the year. The couples who we document make us fall more in love with life. Thank you Phil and Xiaoyan for sharing you special day with us.
We shot an engagement session with one of our 2011 couples this past weekend, Carissa and Eric. We had a blast with a great couple in several perfect locations. What a perfect morning!
The Importance of Photography…
There are so many details to consider when organizing your wedding. After all, it is your most special day. It is YOUR day and you want everything to be perfect, just like you always dreamed it would be. You will be dressed to the nines as everyone else will be, too … You’ll be a Princess. Being on a budget, you have to consider the cost the dress, venue and the food, the cake, the photographer, the DJ, the limo… so many things… do you want a string quartet? Ice sculptures? What are those things that are really important to you?
I was recently going through some old family photo albums and came across wedding photos a photographer took at my parents wedding 60 years ago. I don’t know why, but I’d never seen my folks wedding photos before and these were absolutely priceless. Priceless!! I was blown away!
I understand that when people are on a budget, they want to cut corners. They don’t want to pay a lot for anything, including their photographer, but they will spend more on a string quartet or a harpist to play for 15 minutes than they would for their photographer. I think it’s great that people go to great lengths to make their wedding the best possible on their budget and have the time of their lives.
It just made me think that at the end of your wedding day, when it’s all said and done, all you will have left are the photographs and memories. The photographs will live on forever to be enjoyed by you, your children and your children’s children.
